At Caltrexa Labs, our goal is to streamline the research material sourcing process for qualified researchers and lab customers.

High quality research is driven in large part by high quality inputs. Our team started Caltrexa after experiencing the challenges of the research material supply chain first hand. We have made it our mission to make the sourcing process as easy for our customers as we wished it had been for ourselves.

Research is a time and focus intensive endeavour. Our thesis is simple: why are we diverting the attention of our best and brightest minds away from research, and putting their intellect to work navigating supply chains? We quickly realized that in order to maximize research output, we had to let our researchers be… researchers!

To this end, we founded Caltrexa Labs. Caltrexa handles supplier vetting, material testing, safe storage, fulfillment, support, and more. We become the operational supply arm of your research efforts so you can focus on research.

Caltrexa works with US-based suppliers and testing facilities, and all research materials you purchase from us will include a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Note: Caltrexa’s materials are meant for research-use by certified professionals only. You can read our full research-use policy here.

Research access & permitted use

Who may purchase from Caltrexa Labs?

Purchases are limited to qualified research counterparties acting for a laboratory, institution, company, or bona fide independent research business. Orders must be placed solely for legitimate laboratory, analytical, or in-vitro research purposes.

Before purchasing, buyers must complete the required research-access process and confirm their intended use. Caltrexa Labs may request additional organization or research information and may decline or cancel an order that does not meet its eligibility requirements.

Are Caltrexa Labs products intended for human or veterinary use?

No. Products sold by Caltrexa Labs are not intended for ingestion, injection, inhalation, topical application, or any other form of administration to humans or animals.

They are not offered for personal, household, therapeutic, diagnostic, prophylactic, clinical, or veterinary use. Do not purchase these materials for any nonresearch purpose.

Why is research-access verification required?

Research-access verification helps Caltrexa Labs limit sales to qualified research counterparties, document the stated purpose of each account, and apply its Research Use Policy consistently.

Completing verification does not guarantee account or order approval. Additional review may be required when account information, ordering activity, or support communications are inconsistent with legitimate research use.

Can Caltrexa Labs provide dosing, reconstitution, administration, or personal-use guidance?

No. Caltrexa Labs does not provide medical advice or instructions involving human or veterinary dosing, titration, cycles, injection, administration, or personal use.

Support can assist with product identity, lot-specific documentation, order status, shipping, and neutral material information published for legitimate laboratory use. Qualified research teams should rely on their own validated procedures and institutional requirements.

Testing & documentation

What quality testing does Caltrexa Labs provide?

Each lot released for sale is accompanied by the analytical documentation applicable to that product and lot. Testing is performed by an independent laboratory, and the exact test panel and reported results are shown on the corresponding product or lot page.

Testing may include methods such as HPLC for relative purity and mass spectrometry for identity, together with additional assays where applicable. No test or result should be assumed unless it is explicitly listed for the specific lot.

Are Certificates of Analysis available before purchase?

Yes. The applicable Certificate of Analysis and available supporting records for the current lot are accessible from the product page or the Testing & Lot Documentation library before an order is placed.

When a product is offered in more than one mass or format, confirm that the displayed documentation corresponds to the selected variant and lot.

What is a Certificate of Analysis, and how should I read it?

A Certificate of Analysis is a lot-specific laboratory record summarizing the tests performed on a submitted sample and the results reported by the laboratory.

Depending on the test panel, a report may include:

  • Product or sample name
  • Lot or accession identifier
  • Date received and date reported
  • Stated quantity or sample description
  • Analytical methods
  • Identity result
  • Relative purity result
  • Net-content result
  • Appearance or other specifications
  • Additional contaminant or microbiological results, where applicable
  • Laboratory and report identifiers

HPLC purity, mass-spectrometry identity, net content, sterility, endotoxin, and contaminant testing answer different questions. One result should not be treated as a substitute for another.

What does a reported purity percentage mean?

A reported purity percentage generally reflects the relative purity measured by the analytical method identified in the lot report. It does not, by itself, establish molecular identity, net content, sterility, endotoxin status, suitability for a particular experiment, or compliance with a pharmaceutical standard.

Review the complete lot documentation rather than relying on a single percentage. Researchers are responsible for determining the specifications required for their own work.

Does Caltrexa Labs test every lot for endotoxin, sterility, heavy metals, or other contaminants?

The test panel may vary by material, lot, supplier, and release specification. A product or lot page will identify which tests were actually performed and the result reported for each.

Do not infer that a test was performed because it appears on another product, an earlier lot, or a general marketing page. Contact support if you need help locating a specific record.

What is a lot number?

A lot number is the identifier that connects a specific unit of inventory to its associated testing and release documentation.

The lot number shown on the product label should match the lot record and Certificate of Analysis supplied for that inventory. Current and archived lot records can be searched in the Testing & Lot Documentation library.

Storage & handling

How should sealed lyophilized research material be stored?

Follow the storage conditions printed on the product label and stated in the product or lot documentation. Unless the applicable documentation says otherwise, keep the vial sealed, dry, protected from light, and within the specified temperature range.

Storage requirements and stability can vary by material. Caltrexa Labs does not make a universal shelf-life claim for every product, and the information for one material or lot should not be applied automatically to another.

Is temperature-controlled shipping required?

Shipping conditions depend on the material and its documented handling requirements. The product page, checkout, or order communication will state when temperature-controlled service is required.

Where ambient transportation is used, products are packed to protect the vial and labeling during normal transit. Receipt and post-delivery storage remain the purchaser’s responsibility.

Do you provide instructions for reconstituted materials?

Caltrexa Labs does not publish or provide instructions for human or veterinary reconstitution, dosing, administration, or injection.

For legitimate laboratory preparation, qualified researchers should use their own validated standard operating procedures and the neutral, material-specific documentation approved for the product. Customer support cannot recommend diluents, concentrations, administration volumes, or personal-use methods.

Orders, shipping & returns

How quickly are orders processed and shipped?

Most verified, in-stock orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Orders submitted after 1:00 PM PT, on weekends, or on holidays begin processing on the next applicable business day.

Research-access review, payment review, inventory verification, weather, and carrier conditions may affect timing. Available services, estimated transit times, and charges are displayed during checkout.

Where does Caltrexa Labs ship?

Caltrexa Labs currently ships only to eligible addresses within the United States.

The purchaser is responsible for confirming that the purchase, possession, and intended research use are permitted in the destination jurisdiction. Caltrexa Labs may restrict destinations, request additional documentation, or decline an order where legal, carrier, or compliance requirements cannot be satisfied.

Can I cancel or change an order?

Contact support as soon as possible with the order number. An order may be canceled or modified only before it enters packing or fulfillment.

Once an order has been packed, transferred to a carrier, or otherwise committed for fulfillment, cancellation or modification may no longer be possible. Any approved refund is returned to the original payment method.

What is the return and refund policy?

Because research materials require controlled handling and an intact chain of custody, shipped products generally cannot be returned to inventory or resold.

If an order arrives damaged, incorrect, or materially compromised in transit, contact [email protected] within 7 days of delivery. Include the order number, photographs of the product and shipping package, and a description of the issue. Eligible claims may be resolved through replacement, refund, or another appropriate remedy after review.

Products altered, opened, improperly stored, or handled after delivery are not eligible for return or replacement except where required by applicable law.

What should I do if my package is delayed, missing, or marked delivered but not received?

First review the tracking record and check the delivery location, mailroom, receiving department, and carrier notices. If the package remains missing or the tracking information is inconsistent, contact [email protected] with the order number and tracking number.

Caltrexa Labs will review the shipment and, where appropriate, open a carrier inquiry. Replacement or refund eligibility depends on the shipment record, destination information, carrier findings, and the published Orders & Shipping policy.
